Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard surfaces
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden trophy for 882 days with a win over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
Medvedev, a ex- number one, has experienced a difficult season, winning just one match at the big events and experiencing a setback at the American major.
Medvedev's varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in specific - caused him exiting of the top ten and finally separating with long-time mentor Cervara.
Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a closely contested competitive victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This marks the player's maiden trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard surface after that period of 2023.
Success also means he has won 21 championships at twenty-one distinct events.
"For the first time I have attended a event with my both daughters at once, so to win a title is especially meaningful," commented ranked player the champion.
"This title is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had failed in his past six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.
Medvedev's counter-punching play style and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had caused commentators to doubt if his skill to compete at the elite level was concluded.
But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to approach the net and play assertively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.
He came back from a break down in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, securing 4 of the final five exchanges to take the lead.
The pair traded service breaks in the second set before Moutet, attempting for his first ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to create a final set.
He saved four early-game chances in a close deciding set before Medvedev broke to 15 to close out the victory.
Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the title with a rally at the net, with Moutet incapable to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
